Well, after all the hang ups, we have finally arrived. Last week, a few hours after my last post, I received a call saying that my fingerprints had been processed but there was a glitch with hubby's fingerprints. The glitch was that something had been entered wrong and it needed to be fixed before we could proceed. Friday I received an email saying that everything had been fixed. Monday morning our licensor dropped off our application to her supervisor. Yesterday mid-day we received an additional form that we needed to fill out about vaccinations and get back to her right away. Hubby was supposed to fax the paper this morning but he forgot it, so we frantically got ready and headed out to the UPS store. We sent the fax and then went to the gluten free bakery to grab some muffins. While there we received an email saying that she got our fax and was on her way to pick up our license. Phew!!! What a roller coaster ride the last few months have been. I feel some relief that the licensing process is over but now we just wait to be matched with children. As stated in my previous post, patience is not my strong suit.
It was really cute listening to my youngest tell the lady working at UPS all about how we are getting licensed. He told her that he had been praying his whole life for this and now we are gonna get another baby (and by baby it just means anyone younger than him). She asked whether they wanted a brother or sister. My oldest immediately says that either is fine (he is definitely his mother's child) and the youngest goes on to explain how there are already three brothers in the family so some sisters would be good. He says "it's like I prayed about it and now it is happening". She told him that she would pray too. She figured every little bit would help. She says "you seem really happy about this?" The boys were very excited.
I feel very unprepared in so many ways. We have no girl clothing, no baby stuff, ahhh. I'm the prepared type. I want the clothes washed and folded or hung months before the baby gets here. I want a little bit in each size up to the age of two. That is how my brain functions. So, the waiting and then figuring everything out at the last second is taking a LOT of faith for me. I know that I will be fine and just doing it once will prepare me for the times ahead but waiting for that first call is nerve wracking.
Lord, give us peace and clarity. Calm our nerves and prepare us to love unconditionally. Amen!
I cant believe you are finally at this point! It seems like this journey has gone on forever. I'm so excited for you. I can't wait to hear the news that God has a little one for your family!! Praying for you guys right now. :)
